Happy Halloween!
And the kids' costume this year is... LILO & STITCH! Don't they look just like the characters? Well, except for Sabe's leather shoes hehe! =)
More pics from our trick-or-treating in the next posts. For now, Happy Halloween everyone! =)

Excited for Halloween!
It's almost time for Halloween and I couldn't be more excited for the kids to wear their costumes and go trick-or-treating. For now, let me share what the kids wore LAST year. I wanted them to coordinate or be a tandem since it's just cuter that way. =) So last Halloween, they went as DORA and BOOTS!
Miley's DORA outfit was so easy to put together since it's just made out of a plain pink shirt, orange shorts, yellow socks, and white shoes. What's great about this costume (aside from it being so comfortable) is that she could still wear everything even after Halloween. The backpack was the most important part and it was a good thing I found one at SM. =)
I really wanted to have a BOOTS costume made for Sabe but luckily, my in-laws were able to buy this monkey suit when they went to the States. It was super cute but only ideal to wear indoors (with the aircon on!) since the material was made of thick fur. And look, it even came with a banana! =)
Anyway, Sabe didn't wear his monkey costume when we went around trick-or-treating since it was just too hot! But at least he had red shoes on, just like Boots! =)
Here's another matching outfit they wore when we went to the mall last Halloween. Anyway, I can't wait to show you what Miley and Sabe's costumes this year will be! Stay tuned. =)

My little swimmers
Random pics from different swimming days. =) I love how excited they get when I just mention the word swimming or pool. And when they see the water, Miley instantly wants to change into her bathing suit and Sabe just wants to dive right in - clothes, diapers and all!
Miley has always been more cautious but she's now starting to be braver in terms of going under the water. Sabe is more determined and headstrong, he doesn't even want us to hold him as he wades in the water! Even though he fell a few times already and swallowed some water, he still wants to swim by himself. I just love his confidence!
Can't wait to go to the beach again for some sun, sea and sand! =)

City Dreams
Here's the latest addition to my bedroom wall. I think I really tend to gravitate towards art or photos that have Paris or New York as the subject because these two cities are on top of my bucket list of places to go to.
I placed them near my desk area so that while I'm working, I can picture myself walking along the streets of Paris or New York... hey, never underestimate the power of positive thinking! ;p Hopefully these dreams will turn into reality soon and I can have an actual picture of the Eiffel Tower or the Empire State Building with me in it! =)

Another day at the park
Running is a great way to burn energy. And I totally love it when my kids are able to play in the outdoors. At least in the park, they can just run and run in the field without me having to worry about them bumping into something or breaking anything. =)
wait for us Daddy! |

Oktoberfest 2012
Our friend invited me and hubby to an Oktoberfest event last Friday which was held at Sofitel. We had no idea what to expect (well, free beer was a given) like how big of an event it was going to be or if food was going to be served, etc. I was honestly just picturing a small party at one of the function rooms with waiters going around serving cocktails and hors d'oeuvres...
Boy was I wrong. I mean, DUH, this was OKTOBERFEST! Of course it would be big! We entered the huge tent and we were greeted by singing and dancing hostesses wearing barmaid outfits. There were so many people already sitting in bench style tables and on top of all the tables were free flowing beer towers, just waiting to be drank and refilled throughout the night.
And the food! There were so much to choose from - rows and rows of buffet tables serving sausages, chicken, beef, potatoes, salads, and dessert! Here's just a few of those I was able to take pictures of...
It was so funny since by the end of the night, people were already drunk so some were dancing on top of the tables, falling on the dance floor, and even hitting on the barmaids! hahaha! Anyway, we had a great night although next time, it would be a good idea to book a room at the hotel so you don't need to drive home! ;p

Dong Juan
* Update: Dong Juan is now closed and replaced by The Urban Farm as of January 2014.
I love doing errands with my hubby because not only do we accomplish a lot, but we also get to spend quality time with one another (naks!). During one of our errand days, we decided to squeeze in a little date lunch at this restaurant we wanted to try. Too bad it was closed so we ended up at Dong Juan, another newly opened restaurant at President's Ave. BF Homes, Paranaque.
The interiors were cozy and nicely decorated, Filipino style, using lots of wooden furniture and capiz lamps. I did some research after and found out that Dong Juan originated from Cebu.
We had been trying to guess what their food was before based on the restaurant's name. We figured it was a fusion of Chinese (Dong) and Pinoy (Juan). But we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the menu and found out they had burgers, pasta and pizza to name a few. We actually wanted to try the pizza but after we ordered, we were told the oven broke so we just got something else. :(
Overall, it was a decent dining experience. I want to come back to try their pizza and pastas though. Hopefully next time their oven will be more cooperative. =)

their homemade Iced Tea |
Onion Rings (P169) - I had to ask for mayonnaise though since I'm not a fan of the sauce it came with (hubby liked it though) |
Baby Back Ribs in Homemade Barbeque Sauce (P279) - taste was ok, although we initially had to ask them to heat it again since it was a bit cold when they first served it |
Dong Juan Red Hot Chili Burger (P179) - the server recommended this burger to us and hubby liked it since he's a fan of anything spicy |

Splurge vs Save: Little Black Dress jewelry organizer
I was doing some online window shopping when I came across this product in Zalora:
At first, I thought there was some kind of mistake with the price but then since the brand was Umbra, I figured it was really that expensive. The reason I did a double take was because I had just bought this very similar (and I guess fake ;p) organizer from Divisoria a few weeks ago. It was being sold for P100 each, but if you bargain (and depends on how many you get), it can go down to as low as P70.
It doesn't come with a hanger, has less hooks and clear pockets, and the shape is less defined than the one from Umbra. But for the price, I'll stick with my Divisoria buy anyday! =)
