Mattress Protector

We've had quite a number of accidents on our bed already from overflowing diapers, milk spillage, etc. Usually, we'll just wet the spot with water and then turn the mattress over. However, I was browsing online and I saw that they were selling mattress protectors in the States for about $25 or about P1,000. Now, I remember going to Daiso Japan Store and seeing a version of their mattress protector for just P88! So off I went and bought it.

Well, I guess it was P88 for a reason. The material is cloth-like so I doubt it's water-proof (in fact, I'm sure it's not at all). Plus, the elastic straps don't even fit all the way down the mattress. But once you put the bedsheet over it, it pretty much stays put.

Anyway, we still placed it on top of our mattress. My thinking is, at least the liquid won't go straight to the bed. There'll be sort of a protective first layer barrier so at least the mattress won't get that wet right? At least I hope so. =)

  1. If you have a friend who can get the water-proof mattress protector from Ikea, that would be great. We bought two for our queen-sized bed and our son's single bed. Both mattress protectors were tested when our son was going through potty training. Definitely worth the penny we paid for, and they're not expensive. A few hundred bucks each only :)

  2. Here's what it looks like: http://www.ikea.com/ae/en/catalog/products/90152777/#/60152774

There's a terry cloth layer on top of the waterproof material so it keeps you comfortable, as well.

  3. Hi there,

You should definitely checkout these <a href="http://www.victorialinen.co.uk/acatalog/Mattress_Protectors_in_standard_and_outsize_sizes.html>mattress protectors</a>. They're completely waterproof and anti allergenic but the Tencel fabric allows air to pass through so you dont get to hot or uncomfotable in bed! :)

  7. Mattress covers are made from various materials that are designed in such a way to keep dirt and even dust mites from penetrating your bed that can cause health issues on your part.
