Vancouver Vacation: Stanley Park

Stanley Park is one of Vancouver's top tourist destinations. We were there last August and I just fell in love with all the trees and gorgeous views.

Our main agenda was really to go to the Vancouver Aquarium which is located inside the park.

To get to the aquarium, you have to take a walk through the sprawling park first. I love how everything was so green and it was so nice to just sit in the grass and have a picnic. I also felt so small next to all the tall trees!

Anyway, I wrote all about our Vancouver Aquarium experience in a separate post. Click HERE to read all about it.

After our visit to the aquarium, we headed out to check the famous totem pole display at Brockton Point. Stanley Park is HUGE so it was about a 15-20 minute walk from the aquarium.

We passed by the famous Seawall, which circles around Stanley Park. This scenic, paved pathway was full of people walking, jogging, rollerblading, or cycling. I'm not gonna lie, it was a pretty long walk to get to the totem poles and I was getting tired fast. But the stunning views of the city with the boats on the water and lush trees on the other side made it worthwhile!

taking a much needed break from all that walking
a Disney Cruise boat

You can also take a horse-drawn tour of Stanley Park but I believe it costs about $40 CAD.

Anyway, we finally got to the totem poles which is one of the most-visited tourist attractions in British Columbia. Well, totem poles lang talaga siya, mas matagal pa un lakad namin here than the time we spent sa poles haha! ;p

Anyway, on our way back to downtown, we passed by a lot of bike rental shops. There were all kinds of bikes, even those with special baskets for pets. It would have been fun to rent a tandem bike and go around Stanley Park. But I'm sure hubby would do all the pedaling haha! ;p

Anyway, it was a great day well spent at Stanley Park. There's so much to do here and I just love how there's all this nature in the middle of the city.
