The Vancouver Aquarium

Right now, I'm busy planning a family vacation which hopefully will push through next month. One thing I love doing is making itineraries and researching online about sights and attractions that we should visit. One place hubby and I love going to is aquariums or zoos. Which is why we made sure to check out the the Vancouver Aquarium during our trip to Canada.

The Vancouver Aquarium is Canada's largest aquarium and is located in the sprawling Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver.

We arrived after lunch and there was about a 15 minute line before we were able to get to the ticketing window.

Here were the ticket prices. For adults, it was $36 each which is about P1,300. A bit pricey, but it's almost the same price as the S.E.A. Aquarium in Singapore (SG$32). But definitely worth it since you get to see so much more here.

The Vancouver Aquarium is a great place for people of all ages. They have lots of interesting and comprehensive displays, exhibits, and activities. Hubby and I loved walking through the different sections and learning all about the animals and their habitats. Plus the place is so clean and well maintained!

Out of all the live shows, we made sure to catch the belugas! Doesn't she look like Bailey from Finding Dory? Super cute!

There were already a lot of people when we arrived so the only place available to sit was the Splash Zone. We weren't that near the front anyway so I wasn't worried about getting wet. BIG MISTAKE! Omg I was soaking wet when the trainer asked little miss beluga to flip her tail! So warning, if it says Splash Zone, they really mean Splash Zone lol! ;p

There's also a viewing aquarium down below so you can see the belugas swim up close.

What I also love about this place is that it has more than just fish. Unlike the S.E.A. Aquarium in Singapore, they also have birds, reptiles, and many more!

There were also other shows featuring dolphins, penguins, sea otters, seals and sea lions.

Plus they had a touch pool where you could get up close and have a hands-on encounter with rays!

We probably spent about 3.5 hours here, but you could easily spend the whole day with all the different shows and exhibits. Definitely a fun place to bring the whole family when in Vancouver.
