My Fab Finds

2 of my favorite places to shop in are definitely SM and Landmark. They really have so many cute and affordable stuff! I swear, I could spend the whole day just going around their home sections.

I always manage to stumble upon something I really love and just need to buy whenever I go to these malls. Sharing with you some of my latest and fabulous finds. :)

1. I just fell in love with this metal Eiffel Towel the minute I laid eyes on it. This was from the Landmark and cost P900. I think it was a steal considering the size (it's 24" tall) since I've come across smaller ones costing more than double the price.

 2. Also from the Landmark was this placemat set for only P79.75 (6 pieces). I just love the whimsical print and it's packaged nicely so you can even give it as a gift.

3. I blogged about the amazing Living Room Linens section at the Landmark where I bought my throw pillow covers. They also have a great selection of tablecloths like the one I got for only P219.75! The material is a thick cloth and the print is so vibrant in real life. I just wanted to hoard all the designs!

4. Now I also got another tablecloth this time from SM. The material is the plastic kind which I prefer since it's waterproof and easier to wipe clean especially with kids around. This one only cost P100 and I love the dainty, vintagey, floral pattern.

5. I've always loved flamingos so I instantly knew I was getting this one the moment I laid eyes on it. I didn't even check the price at first so imagine my happiness when I found out it was on sale for only P250! Score!

So happy with all my purchases since they're all super cute and cheap too! Fabulous indeed right? ;p

Last summer hurrah at Acuaverde

We took a quick overnight trip to Laiya, Batangas last week before school officially opens this June. It was literally a last minute trip, since we only booked our room at Acuaverde Beach Resort just the day before via their website!

We already stayed here a year ago and everything's pretty much the same. One thing that's new though is that there's a Municipal Tourism Area before you get to Laiya and you have to pay P20 per adult (kids are free).

Anyway, there had been some rain the past few days before our trip but luckily it was bright and sunny all throughout our stay. We saw on the news though that it was raining pretty hard in Manila so good thing it didn't reach us at all. :)

it was so hot no one wanted to sit on the lounge chairs ;p
playing in the shade

This is Skyler's 2nd time to go to the beach (the 1st was last April in Palm Beach). It was so hot though that he stayed in the room most of the time. We only took him out during the late afternoon and also dipped his feet in the ocean for the first time!

so kagigil!
first time to use a monopod! hehe needs more practice ;p
first dip in the ocean (the toes at least!)
spot Miley!

We woke up early the next day and headed to the beach immediately after breakfast. It really is so much better to swim in the morning since the water is a lot calmer with almost no waves. But it was so hot that the kids kept wanting to go back to the room after a while. Miley even said "Mommy, we're in a desert!" lol! ;p

fine sand and clear skies
Daddy found a crab!

Happy and thankful that we were able to spend this quality time together before summer ends. Til the next getaway! ;)

Our SM Director's Club movie experience (and the e-PLUS Card)

If there's one thing hubby and I love doing, it's watching movies. But surprisingly, we've never tried watching in a Director's Club cinema until recently. Probably because I found it too expensive hehe. But when the new SM City BF Paranaque opened, we were surprised to find out that almost all of the theatres were Director's Club (4 out of 6 in fact). The other 2 are regular cinemas (one is for 3D, the other for 2D). So usually, you have no choice coz they play all the good movies in the Director's Club. And honestly, I'm not really a fan of 3D so I'd rather watch in a Director's Club since it's just like a P50 difference.

So when X-Men: Days of Future Past was shown, we finally decided to try the Director's Club in SM BF for the first time. The tickets cost P400 each, but of course it comes with perks like this posh waiting area...

And of course, lazy boy recliners! Since SM City BF Paranaque only opened late last year, everything is still so brand new. The chairs are all working properly and in perfect condition. It felt so good to tilt back the seat and stretch my legs, I was afraid I would fall asleep since it was so comfortable! ;p

But take note that you can only bring in food from the cinema's food stall, Snack Time.

The ticket is also inclusive of only 1 serving of a bowl of popcorn. I don't know if this is the case for this branch only, but I heard other Director's Club served unlimited popcorn right? Oh well, I'm on a diet naman so ok lang haha!

If you want to order drinks or more food, you just press the button beside your seat. My only complain was that it took a while before any assistance came. In fact, we ended up just signaling to one of the staff serving the popcorn since no one came after we pressed the button and the movie was about to start.

Now when we bought the tickets, we were asked if we had an e-PLUS card. We weren't really interested in getting one, but then we were given complimentary cards which apparently were included in the ticket price already. We then found out that when you use the e-PLUS card, you get P50 off every movie you watch in a Director's Club and in 3D. You also get 10% off from Snack Time.

e-PLUS card stall right next to the ticket counter

We had to fill out an application form the next time we watched, for our cards to be personalized.

Once you have your personalized card, you can enjoy more perks. So yes, I have to say the e-PLUS card is really worth it. You can also use it to pay for other things like when you go shopping in SM, since you just need to load it with money and "tap to pay". Just visit www.eplus.ph for more details.

After this, I have to say it will be hard to watch in a regular cinema again after watching in a Director's Club! I mean, it's practically the same cost as watching in a regular theater anyway. Diba it's around P200+ in a regular cinema? Then you'll buy snacks/popcorn pa which is about P100. So ganun din since P350 per ticket in a Director's Club using the e-PLUS card (with popcorn too). So for sure we'll be regulars from now on! :)

My Little Buttercup Bakery and Café

My Little Buttercup Bakery and Café was one of the first restaurants to open in the new SM City BF Parañaque. I'd always slow down when passing by since the place really looks so cute and inviting. We finally got to try it out  a few weeks ago when we brought the kids along with us to the mall.

From their cupcake kiosks in Alabang Town Center and South Supermarket in Filinvest, this branch is their first full cafe and bakery that also serves yummy food.

I really love their window display featuring their cupcakes! So cute!
And they also make customized cakes!

The interiors are done in lovely shades of pastel and neutral tones. Perfect place to just chill and relax with the family after walking around the mall.

I just adore chalk board lettering!
the specials

I'm a sucker for cute little details like these inspirational quotes that can be found all around the resto.

As usual, we had a hard time choosing what to order since everything sounded so good. And I love how affordable everything is.

Anyways, here's what we ended up getting. The food was really good and we enjoyed every bite!

House Iced Tea Liter
P115
Seasoned Fries (for the kids)
P80
Salisbury Steak
100% USDA Flame Grilled Beef Patty, loads of Hickory gravy,
buttered vegetables, seasoned fries and a choice of garlic rice or steamed rice

P285
Slow Roasted Ribs
Slow roasted Hickory baby back ribs, served with buttered vegetables
and a choice of garlic rice, steamed rice or seasoned fries

P345

Now what I really loved and appreciated was that they have a kiddie area in one corner of the restaurant. Miley and Sabe instantly sat down over there and then watched "The Croods" the whole time we ate. I swear, all restaurants should have an area like this. I think this was one of the few times hubby and I were actually able to eat in peace haha! But it's only 4 chairs so I guess first come first served if the place is full and there are a lot of kids. ;p

I really like this place since it's so family and kid friendly. Plus the food is good and the prices are very reasonable. We were too full to have dessert after, so will definitely be back to try their cupcakes soon! :)
