Our 8th

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary! We actually did a family photoshoot a few weeks ago and while the kids were busy running around not being cooperative (lol) I asked the photographer if she could snap some shots of me and hubby.

Our 7th anniv dinner at Kiwa Korean Grill

It's been a month since our 7th wedding anniversary, and were actually here now in Bangkok for work plus to celebrate as well. But during our actual anniversary, we had dinner at the lovely Kiwa Korean Grill in Solaire.

The Girl + The Bull

For our wedding anniversary, we decided to finally eat in The Girl + The Bull in BF Paranaque. We've been hearing such good reviews of the place and seeing a lot of posts about it on social media for the longest time.

People say the place is a bit hard to find and we did have to keep our eyes peeled in order to spot their logo on the building's signage.

In fact, the restaurant's name is nowhere to be found from the facade...

Instead, what greets you when you enter the door are the words "Yep! You've found us" as if you've finally come to the end of a treasure hunt... :)

The inside of the restaurant is very minimal, but that's because I think they've recently undergone a renovation. I do love the chairs and the pictures on the wall.

They have a 1-page menu with only 13 items:

What we really wanted to try was their famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken, which is only available every Friday & Saturday. Check out the presentation, half of the plate lang talaga lol! Parang dapat may rice sa kabila noh? ;p

Anyway, it certainly lived up to the hype for me. I loved the flavors, especially that butternut pumpkin sauce. Yummy! :)

Buttermilk Fried Chicken, smoked paprika, balsamic maple syrup, butternut pumpkin, kale (P430)

We also ordered the Grass-Fed Beef Tenderloin and the meat was very soft and tender.

Grass-Fed Beef Tenderloin, blue cheese emulsion, brown butter, squid ink potato puree, maple red cabbage, torched mushrooms, leeks (P530)

We also ordered the Chicken Bibimbap since this was the only rice dish on the menu. I'm not such a fan of bibimbap in general, but hubby absolutely loved it!

Chicken Bibimbap, gochujang, kimchi fried rice, slow-poached egg, black sesame, nori, market vegetables (P410)

Other thoughts:
- All their servers are young 20-something kids (who all seem so sosy hehe)
- They don't have any alcohol / beer
- I absolutely need rice in my life so I was bummed they didn't even have any plain rice
- It was cash only basis when we were there, but again probably because of the renovations
- The place was full when we went, so better make a reservation

Anyway, this place is a definite must-try. Hope to be back to try their other items on the menu. :)

Our Prenup Pictorial

Today is our 6th wedding anniversary and to celebrate, I thought I'd share our prenup photos taken way back in 2008 by Flickerhappy Studio. I knew I wanted a vintage theme and I remember searching long and hard for a location for the shoot. I happened to see a photo of this place in Real Living magazine which turned out to be A11 Gallery in Pasay City. From the pictures I saw, I knew I had to have our shoot there.

I didn't know who to get in touch with so I remember just writing a random email to a contact address I saw online. Lo and behold, someone replied and said that it was the very first time someone had inquired about a prenup shoot! So yes, we hold the distinction of being the first ever couple to do their prenup in this place. :)

I completely love how the photos turned out because every single corner of the place was gorgeous! Looking back, it's probably how I would still want my prenup pics to look even if we did it today. And you might think we look sad in the pics coz there's hardly any with us smiling but that's intentional lol! We definitely didn't want to be mushy or cheesy so we just treated it like a fashion spread hehe. So yes, no kissing shots! I remember having my trial makeup done before the shoot then I just did my own hair. I also was the one who styled our outfits. Sariling sikap even then hehe! :)

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics as much as I loved looking back on them. Throwback! ;p

5 years of wedded bliss

Today is a milestone - it's our 5th wedding anniversary!

I think the best anniversary gift we could have ever received is our new baby boy Skyler, who's turning a month old tomorrow! And now after 5 years and 3 kids later, life still keeps getting better...

Happy 4 years to us!

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary! Gosh, I still remember our wedding day as if it were yesterday. Like every bride, I wanted every detail to be perfect (while of course sticking to our budget ;p). There were some hiccups along the way - like a bad supplier for our entourage dresses, our invites being printed last minute (Ok this was kinda my fault. I created our postcard type invites myself so I was thinking I could also print them at home. Just think, each invite had 4 cards and had a print on the front and back part... and I needed like 150 sets! I almost pulled my hair out trying to align everything back to back. In the end, I just had a supplier print them for me haha).

I also remember that photobooths were kinda a new thing back then. I had to beg and plead hubby to get one for our wedding (as if he could say NO to me diba?). But it was a super big hit during our reception, especially for the oldies. Like when I saw the CD after, puro titos and titas ang laman! ;p

Looking back, I'm so happy with how everything turned out although to be honest there might be some things I'd change if I could get married again. There are lots of new and innovative suppliers now with so many creative ideas. It's like whenever I see new wedding photos, they all just get better and better. I keep joking hubby if we can get married again every 5 years. Renewal of vows lang naman pero parang small wedding ang peg hihi!

Anyway, sharing some of my favorite shots from our special day 4 years ago. Wow, super bagets and payat pa kami! ;p

So again, happy anniversary to us and here's to many more years of togetherness. =)

MrsMommyHolic is now 1 year old!

Happy 1st Anniversary to me and my blog! Wow, time really does fly. It only seems like yesterday when I decided to start this blog and publish my very first post.

A year ago, I knew that I wanted to write about my kids and my experiences as a mom/housewife so that I could have something to look back on. I didn't know if anyone would read my posts, but I was okay with that since I figured this blog was basically going to serve as my virtual diary. But then I started getting comments and emails from actual readers who had nothing but super nice things to say. Please know that you have done nothing but motivate and inspire me to love being a blogger mom more and more each day.

I want to take this time to thank everyone who has read my blog (and continues to do so I hope), especially those who have left encouraging and positive comments from time to time. Since it is almost the end of 2012, I hope and pray that my blog will continue to grow and improve this coming year. And I hope that you, my fabulous readers, will continue to support me as I write about more of my experiences, travel, home decorating, DIY projects and many many more! Cheers!
