My Fab Finds

I have a habit of buying stuff, stashing them away, then completely forgetting about them! Usually, I'll remember them when I'm searching for something else and then I find them, still with the tags on. Anyway, sharing with you some of these finds, better late than never. ;p

1. I got this embroidered kitchen towel at Metro Department Store for 50% off. I love the design and all the intricate little details. They're so pretty I almost don't want to use them hehe!

love the embroidery
At 50% off, I got 2 towels for just P149!

2. I love cute and quirky decors, especially stuff like fruit. I got this ceramic apple (which happens to be a coinbank) at the Caltex stopover in SLEX. We were on the way home from the beach and we had lunch in KFC. If you've been to this stopover, you'll know that aside from the many restaurants here, they also have stalls where they sell pasalubong. They were also selling other ceramic fruits like cherries and pears, which I might just buy next time (then pwede na pang fruit salad lol!).

3. You all know I love Uniwide and this cowboy set was something I got during one of my shopping trips there. I just had to get the hat since it's perfect for parties - you put the chips on the brim of the hat, then the dip in the center. Super cute right? Or you can just use it for decoration. Total for both is just P150 so you can't beat that! I just need to throw a western themed party and we're all set! ;p

perfect for chips and dip
unbeatable price

4. I wish I could buy all the plates and bowls from Gourdo's Sakura line. The designs are just gorgeous! I just contented myself with buying these assorted miso bowls at P80 each.

I happened to chance upon Gourdo's in ATC one time and saw some items that were 50% off. Turns out these were "damaged". I checked everything thoroughly and the only chip I saw was on the bowl (and it wasn't even sharp and hardly noticeable). The plates on the other hand were just a bit faded, which was fine with me. The plates ended up being P70 each and the bowl P87.50.

5. I just love unicorns! If you're a Sweet Valley book reader like me back in the day, do you remember the "Unicorn Club" which was made up of the prettiest and most popular girls? Hehe, throwback lang... Anyway, I saw this figurine online at Urban Outfitters and luckily someone was able to buy it for me. It's actually a ring holder (you put the rings on the horn) but I'm using it as decor for our living room right now. :)

Stay tuned for more of my fab finds! :)

Early Christmas presents

My in-laws finally came home from their US vacation a few weeks ago. And while we, especially the kids, missed them so much, this also meant one thing... PASALUBONG for everyone! ;p

I felt like a giddy kid waking up on Christmas morning all set to open Christmas presents. But this time, I was eagerly awaiting the opening of the balikbayan boxes haha! Although I already knew the stuff I was going to get since I had already searched for these online and even ordered some of it myself. ;p

First up were these fabric cube bins from Target. They come in many colors but I just got the beige ones to blend in with our white shelf (which I got from S&R). They're just perfect for holding stray toys and books in the kids' room.

now it looks more organized!
stuffed toys in one of the drawers
plus a bonus OWL drawer too, which the kids love wearing on their head!

My daughter Miley is super addicted to Bubble Guppies so I really searched online if they had any toys available in the States. I found these at Amazon.com and I'm so happy they were able to buy all 3 characters! My mother-in-law emailed a picture of the toys when they got it and Miley was so excited already. I even asked her the day before her Mama and Lolo came home: "Miley, are you excited? Mama will be here tomorrow!" And you know what she said: "Then I'll have my Bubble Guppies!" (talagang un ang priority? haha!)

And finally, what I was most excited about! If you read my post about my favorite online shop, you know how crazy I am over Urban Outfitters' home stuff! I regularly browse their Apartment Section, especially the SALE items, and these were the things I ended up getting:

I wanted to get more bedding stuff but I decided to wait and check the quality first. But it's REALLY GOOD! I totally love the prints and the colors are so vibrant in real life. I am definitely buying more in the future when I have relatives going to the States again so they can bring it home for me.

I also bought this cardboard deer head for Sabe's room. Can't wait to assemble and put it up!

We also had other pasalubongs like clothes, shoes, and of course sooooo much stuff for the kids! It definitely felt like Christmas in our house! I was telling hubby maybe the kids shouldn't get all the toys at once since they'll be so overwhelmed. But of course, their grandparents were so excited to pamper the little ones after being away for so long. As for me, I'm super happy with my new goodies. Oh, and the best part? That "amoy PX" smell! I could spend all day sniffing our new stuff, feeling ko galing na din akong States hahaha! ;p

Dream shop: Urban Outfitters

If there's one more store I wish they'd bring over here to the Philippines, it would definitely be Urban Outfitters.

I browse their online store not for the clothes but for their home stuff. I am OBSESSED with their Apartment section, especially the rugs and bedding. Check out some of the pages from their super cute Home Catalog.

I love the prints and patterns, the colors, the design. EVERYTHING! Their products are eclectic, quirky, bold and fresh. So bohemian and free-spirited! When you put everything in a room together, you'd think it would be too much and yet it still makes sense.

So, I really hope they'd open an Urban Outfitters store here so I wouldn't have to worry about shipping costs and customs taxes if I'd want to buy something. For now, I'd just have to content myself with dreaming about these gorgeous pieces making their way into my home in the near future.
