When I was pregnant with my first child, I loved reading and researching about motherhood and all things baby so that I would be prepared once I gave birth. One of the things I read about was SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. I have to admit, I was really freaked out about this because apparently, SIDS claims over 8 babies a day and 2,500 lives year, making it the leading cause of death in otherwise healthy babies after one month of age.
Once Miley was born, I have to admit that I was really paranoid about SIDS so hubby and I would take turns watching her sleep just to be sure nothing bad happened to her. You know how they say you should sleep when your baby is sleeping and use that time to rest? Well, we didn't do that. ;p I swear, we were like zombies staying up all through the night just to check if she was still breathing or her blanket hadn't covered her face or something.
