The Urban Farm

There's a new restaurant along President's Ave. in BF Homes where the old Dong Juan used to be. The name itself on the signage lets you know what to expect - The Urban Farm Farm Healthy Good Food.

They were still on a soft opening during our visit which meant 10% discount on our total bill, yey!

I really liked the interiors - clean, cozy and homey. I especially loved the hand-painted murals on the walls.
.

These were some of the specials by Liz Echiverri, a U.S. accredited chemist and master herbalist. Expect more healthy options coming from her soon.

You can check out their full menu and prices HERE, but here's what we ended up ordering:

For starters, we got potato balls and quesadilla. Don't be fooled by the quantity of these potato balls - they were huge! ;p

Potato Balls
Breaded mashed potato balls with salsa and alioli dip
Hoisin Quesadilla
Folded flour tortilla with chicken ham, onions, capsicum

Here's what we got for our main dishes. They had big servings which was great for the price. The flavors were good and we were really so full after!

Fish and Chips
Deep fried cream dory in beer batter with seasoned fries
Dijon Half Roast Chicken
Mustard marinated half of chicken with gravy fries
BBQ Beef Ribs
Grilled and glazed beef ribs with spicy gravy on the side and seasoned fries

They were also giving out free samples of their Herbal Coffee during our visit, which hubby really liked (sorry, I'm not a coffee drinker ;p).

Their pastries and smoothies were by Green Confections and I decided to have a Banana Walnut cupcake for dessert. It was yummy although the size was very small. I think I finished it in 2 bites haha! ;p

Banana Walnut with Nutella Frosting

I think The Urban Farm is definitely a welcome addition to the many restaurants in the BF area. We really enjoyed our lunch here and we will definitely be back to try their other offerings. :)

Johnson's Baby Powder Play Factory Event

Last February 1, the whole family was invited to attend the Johnson's Baby Powder Play Factory event at Active Fun.

look at this amazing toolbox invite! the kids had so much fun playing with it :)

It was really a super fun family day where we learned  that powdering can not only make your kid feel fresher but it can also lead to a fun bonding activity.

Gawing playtime ang powder time by doing arts & crafts using empty bottles of Johnson's Baby Powder, drawing letters or objects on your child's back, dancing while putting powder and so many more!

the media event
ChaCha of Goin' Bulilit was there and she sang "Let It Go" from the Disney hit Frozen
gift packs
my kiddos ready to play!

After the short program, we all headed to the gym for playtime. This was our first time ever in Active Fun so imagine how excited we all were! It was so much fun navigating and going up and down the different areas - the huge slide was especially their favorite (I was terrified to go down the first time haha!). Hubby and I were exhausted after a while, but the kids still wanted to play on and on and on... ;p

Thank you to Nuffnang and Johnson's Baby Powder for this wonderful bonding day with the family. After this, they have really changed the way we view playtime and powder time. :)

Miley in Disney Junior's Birthday Book

Today is Miley's 4th birthday! I always send my kids' pictures to Nickelodeon's Birthday Buzz and Disney Junior's Birthday Book hoping we'd see them on TV. We seem to have more luck with Disney Junior since Sabe was shown on TV last year - except we never saw it! A friend just called to say she saw Sabe so that's how we knew he was featured. This year, it's Miley turn to be shown online in the Birthday Book. Yey! :)

Anyway, happy 4th birthday to our little princess! Will post pictures of her school celebration in the next couple of days. :)

Online shopping at Zalora

As I told you about in my previous post, I'm pretty much addicted to online shopping these days. And one of the sites I'm constantly browsing is ZALORA. I never bought from here before despite signing up for their newsletter way back in 2012. But I've regularly checked their items from time to time just to see if there's something new.

It was finally this pair of shoes which caught my eye, especially since it was on sale too. I really liked the color and the design and decided to go ahead and buy it...

Vida Liz Mid Heels Sandals P549

I also wanted to buy a couple of other shoes, but finally decided to get this one from CLN. The nude color makes it perfect for any outfit while the PVC material of these jelly flats makes it waterproof so I can wear it even to the beach. But the rhinestones give it enough bling that I can also wear it to more formal occasions.

CLN Kimmy Flat Sandals P499

I also couldn't resist getting a couple of accessories since they were on sale too. The neon green necklace was now P250 (from P499), the purple earrings at P109 (from P349), and the tassel necklace at P179 (from P345). What great deals right? :)

Shipping is free for orders P1000 above. I also picked the CASH ON DELIVERY option so I just paid directly to the courier. My orders arrived on time but the CLN sandals were a bit small and the Vida Liz Mid Heels Sandals was missing a buckle on one strap. What I love about Zalora is that they offer 30 days return, so all I did was call their hotline, explain why I wanted to return the items, and they scheduled it for pick-up - all FREE of charge. You can choose to get store credit or just simply exchange it, which I did to a bigger size and a new stock. The new items arrived a couple of days later and they were perfect! And I didn't even have to leave the house at all. ;p

Since I had such a good experience my first time, I ordered again a couple of days later. This time a black dress and another necklace.

What I also love is the photos from the site are so true to the actual products. Everything I got was exactly how I pictured it to be.

me wearing my new dress and necklace. perfect fit! :)

The best part of Zalora for me is really the free returns because you don't have to worry about something not fitting you or having a change of heart. It really is a hassle free shopping experience in my opinion. Also dangerous though because once you start, it can be hard to stop. I have so many items in my wishlist and cart just waiting to be checked-out... :)

HEAVEN Baby Diapers

My baby Skyler is a month old now! He is so matakaw so I'm constantly nursing, but I'm not complaining since I can see how much he's growing everyday.

Since he's a breastfed baby, he's also constantly peeing and pooping, sometimes with each feeding! So one thing we always need to have a lot of stock of is diapers since we go through them so fast everyday! In fact, we're thinking of asking our family and friends to just give us diapers during Skyler's baptism since we already have all the baby stuff we need from his brother and sister anyways. ;p

As a mom, the qualities I always look for when buying diapers are comfort, protection, and affordability. There are some cheap brands out there but you also have to make sure of the quality since this is your baby you're talking about. I've experienced diapers that have leaked which is such a hassle since you have to change everything - the baby's clothes, the sheets, and sometimes even your own clothes too! And I especially hate when this happens in the middle of the night. I also want to make sure it is breathable and absorbs well since wetness can lead to diaper rashes, and this can make the baby very irritable. And of course, I want my baby to be comfortable with the fit of the diaper so that it won't chafe his skin.

So it was really great when I was asked to try HEAVEN Baby Diapers since it has the following features:
    1.  TLC - Total Leak Control System
    2.  Soft cottony cover
    3.  Adjustable/magic tape

Plus, it's also affordable since the SMALL pack costs P138 for 24 pcs (or P5.75 per piece).

Other sizes are priced as follows:
- Medium:   P162 for a 24pc. pack (or P6.75 per piece)
- Large:      P186 for a 24pc. pack (or P7.75 per piece)
- X-Large:   P210 for a 24pc. pack (or P8.75 per piece)

Us moms want only the best for our kids so I'm happy to discover this diaper that allows me to give my baby tender love and care. With its Total Leak Control System, HEAVEN Baby Diapers reassures me of my baby's comfort & protection from leaks & diaper rashes.

HEAVEN Baby Diapers are available in selected stores like Waltermart.

5 years of wedded bliss

Today is a milestone - it's our 5th wedding anniversary!

I think the best anniversary gift we could have ever received is our new baby boy Skyler, who's turning a month old tomorrow! And now after 5 years and 3 kids later, life still keeps getting better...

Online shopping at Instagram

I don't know when exactly it happened, but Instagram is definitely the new Multiply when it comes to online shopping. I used to be one of those people who loved shopping on Multiply, especially the "vintage" or ukay-ukay finds. In fact, I even became an online seller myself for a while back then. ;p

Now, I think every business has an IG account probably because it's so easy to connect with people and post pictures of products. I admit that I wasn't a fan of Instagram before but now, I'm obsessed with it for the shopping part haha! I love how I can find stuff online just by searching a hashtag or when other bloggers post their finds. Now, I'm following mostly online stores, so my feed is always brimming with products and SFS (shout-out for shout-out) ads.

When I'm nursing Skyler (which is basically 80% of my day), surfing online via the iPad or my phone is such a great way to pass the time, especially during the wee hours of the night when I can't really turn on the TV. However, it's also a curse since I've discovered so many great stuff online as well which I can't resist buying! Hubby already thinks I need an intervention since he always finds me scrolling through store after store and product after product in deep concentration. I also have so many Viber conversations with sellers through my inquiries and orders. Plus, I've also made him go to the bank a couple of times to pay for me haha!

Sharing with you my favorite online finds so far. :)

CRAFTY HATTIE

Crafty Hattie was kind enough to send me these goodies which I can't wait to use! They sell all kinds of washi tapes and also party & DIY supplies. What's also great about them is sales from their shop is used to support kids via World Vision and a weekly feeding program. Now that's shopping for a good cause. :)

InstaMUG

I've been seeing all kinds of items that can be personalized with Instagram photos, and one of those I really wanted was a pillow. Some of the stores I found online were a bit expensive (about P600 - P850) so I was happy when I discovered InstaMUG, which sold the covers for only P400 each.

Feedback and service were excellent. I got a response to my inquiry at once, and when I sent the pictures for layout, their artist was even the one following up if I had seen their email already for approval. Shipping was super fast since I got the pillow covers the very next day after I gave the go signal! I was also happy with the overall quality of the prints.

NAME ON PRINT

Here's another cute store which offers personalized items. I got some mousepads (P175) and also some coasters (P395 for a set of 6) which I gave away as gifts. I totally forgot to take photos of the items though, except for this mousepad which is what I got for myself. The coasters are made of exactly the same material so just imagine it being smaller in a square or circular shape.

PAPER CHIC STUDIO

I was browsing online in the middle of the night during a nursing session and happened to catch the start of one of Paper Chic Studio's sales. Their baker's twine was 15% off (P187 each) so I decided to place an order before stocks ran out. I originally wanted the colors blue and pink, but the blue was already sold out so I just got the yellow one instead. I also bought these pretty lace stamps at P30 each. Can't wait to use these in my DIY projects. :)

KAWAII CREATION

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Win and I've been looking online for those cute, customized cases. Unfortunately, most of the stores I follow don't sell for this phone (usually for iPhones and the other Samsung models only). So I just searched the hashtag #samsunggalaxywin or #galaxywin and found this store.

They sell interchangeable cases which is basically different inserts that you place inside the case. The one for the Galaxy Win costs P400 which comes with the case itself (Alibaba brand), a screen protector and 7 interchangeable inserts (I got an additional 2 free since they had a promo that time). They have so many designs to choose from and you can even customize it as well.

To be honest, I wasn't really happy with the quality of the printing up close. But it wasn't really noticeable once it was inside the case anyways so it was fine. However, I encountered a problem with the inserts though. After I used the case, I started to lose signal. I thought my phone was broken but after a while, hubby connected the dots that it was the inserts causing the problem. Since the inserts were made of cold laminated glossy photo with silver back, it completely blocked the antenna of the phone since the signal in our house is weak. It was fine if I used it outside the house, but when I'm home, I have to remove the inserts (hasel haha!).

D'JOUR SHOP

I've been looking for these origami skorts and all I had to do was search the hashtag #origamishorts to find lots of online sellers. Usually, I'm a bit hesitant to buy clothes online since I can't fit it nor see the material up close. But since these were just 2 for P450, I decided to go ahead and buy them. And I'm glad I did because I really love the fit!

Well that's all for now. I think I really have to control myself, otherwise I'll end up buying so much more stuff hehe! I think it's also partly because I haven't really been out for almost a month that's why I've been so trigger happy online. I guess I just miss going to the mall and actually shopping for real haha! Coming up, my online buys from Zalora! ;p
