Last minute Christmas shopping

So many things to do, so little time! As of now, I’m still not even halfway done with wrapping Christmas presents! With watching the kids all day, I always tell myself that I’ll get down to finishing everything after they go to bed. But when they finally fall asleep, I’m already so tired I don’t have any energy left to wrap even a single gift!

With Christmas just around the corner, I realized that I still had some last minute shopping to do. So today, after we dropped Miley off at my in-laws so we could bring Sabe to the doctor for his monthly check-up and measles shot, I convinced Vins that we had to go to the mall after (yahoo!).

Oh how I’ve missed you Glorietta! As I mentioned in my previous post, since we moved to the south, I’ve had to say goodbye to my favorite malls. When we were still living at my old house, I’d always be at MOA or Glorietta every weekend (or even on weekdays since I worked in Makati).

When we got there, I saw that they had already opened the area near the SM walkway that had been under construction for quite some time now. No stores yet but still, excitement!!!

Vins and I were like little kids going from store to store. Sabe was such a good little boy sitting in his stroller. He’d get impatient after a while and would want to get picked up, but other than that, he was just perfect!

Here we are in Nike waiting for Vins to try on some running shoes. After the 5th shoe store I told Vins: "Akala ko ba Christmas shopping? E bat parang shoe shopping na to?!" And to think Vins just bought running shoes 2 weeks ago! Haaay I'm not the only shoe addict in this family! Well, I can't blame him, the prices and stocks in G4 are better than the ones in Town Center. Vins was pissed coz his new running shoes cost cheaper here plus it came in black which looked nicer than the blue ones he got (tsk tsk, told him kasi to look around first muna, but NO, didn't listen to me. ayan tuloy! ;p).

But anyway, after going around and buying everything we needed, I checked on Sabe in his stroller and this is what I found. Awwww!

So glad I was able to spend time with my boys today. Bonding -check! Shopping- check! Now, back to wrapping presents after I wrap up this post (hihi corny!).

Run, Mommy, Run!

Vins is so athletic. He’s a triathlete, he plays basketball and he has overall discipline when it comes to working out. Me? Well, let’s just say I signed up for a gym membership a couple of years ago but I just used the treadmill and spent more time in the bathroom blow drying my hair.

After we got married, Vins convinced me to finally go running with him. It really means a lot to him since he says he wants us to do an activity as a couple together (hmmm… isn’t shopping an activity?). To be honest, what really motivated me was the whole new running wardrobe I was getting. Vins bought me shoes, shorts, dri-fit shirts, and sports bras (he was generous since he said it was an investment anyway). And then I got pregnant and that was the end of my running career before it even started (Vins then said that was the worst investment he had ever made).

I promised Vins that once I gave birth, I would get back to running. Sayang naman all my running outfits dba? But then, I got pregnant again(!) so that was that.

Now, it’s been 7 months after giving birth to Sabe and I have no more excuses. 2 days ago, Vins dragged me to the park to join him in his afternoon jog. I was all confident, even telling Vins that if I ran 3k, he should treat me to Papa John’s pizza (siyempre start pa lang ng workout, food na agad ang iniisip!).

So we ran… and after a couple of minutes, my sides were starting to ache, my knees were beginning to get wobbly, I was breaking out into a sweat… I asked Vins how many kilometers we had ran so far…

Vins:  “0.3km…”

Huwaaaaaat???!!! I’d be dead before we even reach 1k!

But I wasn’t going to give up (I could already smell the pizza). After I had ran all I could, the final distance I did was 1.25k! But that was just running! Vins didn’t count the parts we walked in between. If he did, I’d have totaled more than 3k for sure!

If I keep this up, hopefully I can join a running event sometime early next year (Condura Marathon in February?). Wish me luck!

Just wanna have fun

Last weekend, Vins took me to his triathlon team's Christmas party. The theme - 80s!!! I searched online for some pegs and what caught my eye was lots of NEON! Good thing fashion just keeps repeating itself because a lot of what's on trend now are very 80s - like color blocking, bandage skirts, and animal prints. The wilder, the better! In fact, we just raided my younger sister's closet for our costumes! Here's what we ended up wearing, styled by me!

Vins' striped sweater, my top and skirt c/o my sister. I actually also bought a spiky wig for Vins but we both decided he looked better with just the bandana.
With some of the girls
Headband boys. Love the colors!

everyone

Anyway, here's a closer look at my outfit.

You can't really see it, but my eyeliner was bright blue! I even placed a little star near the corner of my left eye.
animal print top and bandage skirt: Forever 21, leggings: 168 mall (just P90!).

Can't wait for more Christmas parties! I really love the holiday season! =)

Breaking glass

The title of my post sounds like the next Twilight movie, but no. See these ceramic balls?

Well, Miley just grabbed the one with the letter "V" and threw it on the floor! We were just in the living room playing, I looked away for 1 second and then I heard the sound of breaking glass. Good thing Miley just stood there (looking guilty I might add) coz I was afraid she would run and hurt her foot on something. When I scooped her up, the first thing I said was "Oh my gosh Miley! Look at what you did!" She looked at me with those big pretty eyes and exclaimed too "Oh my gosh! OH MY GOSH!" How could you really get mad? =)

P.S. Vins said our living room was a disaster waiting to happen with all the accent pieces I bought (I guess I deserved the big "I told you so" when he was sweeping the mess afterwards). In fairness, this was the first time Miley had ever broken anything deliberately. I just hope she leaves the big ceramic jar stool alone...

The new ATC... opening soon!

As I mentioned in my previous post, we went to Alabang Town Center last week. During our trip, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had already opened the new wing which had been under construction for a while now. Vins and I excitedly checked it out, but unfortunately, no stores were open yet (boooo!).

the new wing

Since we moved to the south, Alabang Town Center has been our default mall of choice. Its small though compared to the other Ayala Malls. I could spend the whole day in Glorietta, Greenbelt or Mall of Asia  (my favorite malls!), but I've only been able to spend a couple of hours in ATC (with movie na un ha). With this expansion, its now huge!

It looks just like Greenbelt!

Here's a preview of the stores and retaurants that will be opening soon:

Can't wait to go here when everything is already open! Definitely something to look forward to next year! Wheeeee! =)

Crazy over storage! (Howards Storage World vs. Daiso Japan Store)

I'm a self-confessed shopaholic. I realized though that the things I go gaga over usually depend on what stage in my life I’m on. I’ve been crazy over clothes ever since, but it skyrocketed when I first started college and finally stopped wearing a uniform. When I started working and had to wear corporate attire, it was an excuse for me to restock my closet with slacks, skirts, collared blouses, and of course, new shoes and bags (hey, I NEEDED them)! When I moved to a new job in an advertising agency where the dress code was pretty much express yourself, I felt that it was unforgivable to wear the same thing twice (yes, with a new job comes a new wardrobe) . When I got pregnant with Miley, I got obsessed with anything baby! It was no surprise that the day before I went into labor, I was at Mothercare during my lunch break, buying stuff for Miley (they were on SALE!).

Of course, when we bought our house, I went crazy thinking about how to decorate our home. Since we just stayed with my mom before, all we owned was whatever was in our room. Everything else, we had to buy (yipeeee!) I’ll do a separate post on my interior decorating adventures, but for now let me tell you about what I am currently obsessed with – STORAGE!

I first read about Howards Storage World in Real Living magazine (my bible on decorating). I decided to check out their website and my heart started racing when I saw their online catalogue. They had everything you could ever need to keep your home organized and clutter free. I made a list of what I wanted and pretty much gave up halfway through, it was easier to make a list of what I DIDN’T want!

Happy 11th anniversary…

Of being boyfriend and girlfriend! Haha! Even though Vins and I have been married for almost 3 years now, I still like celebrating our BF/GF anniversary. We didn’t do anything major today like we used to back then. We just went to the mall and watched a movie (believe me, getting out of the house is already a big deal in itself). But it was still pretty special since we got to spend time together and then have mass at the end of the day (since it’s also the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, we get to go to mass every year on our anniv too).  I don’t know, I guess December 8 will always have a special meaning for me forever. Looking back, I can’t believe we’ve been together now for more than a decade! Vins and I met back in college,  when we were blockmates taking up Advertising Management in DLSU.

college days!
