L.O.L. Surprise Dolls (plus the kids' new YouTube channel!)

My daughter told me last December that what she wanted for Christmas was these L.O.L. Surprise Dolls she saw on YouTube. It was the first time I had ever heard of these dolls and it was so funny when she was explaining to me how they worked. She kept saying it was 7 layers of surprise like a blind bag, and I was like how would it all fit inside?!

Anyway, I ended up watching an unboxing video on YouTube and I was "surprised" (pun intended) how cute these toys were! I mean, if your kids love Kinder Eggs or blind bags, these are perfect for them! I immediately asked everyone I knew who was in the US that time to look for one. But these L.O.L. dolls only came out last December, so it was practically sold out everywhere especially since it was the Christmas season.

My mom was in the States that time too and luckily she was able to find some in Target right before coming home. She said she literally got the last 5 balls out of 500 that were just delivered. Wild! Anyway, my daughter finally got them on her birthday last February so she was so happy. Well, the good news is that I just saw these being sold in Toys R Us for P500 a few weeks ago. They aren't that popular here yet I guess, maybe since it's just new or coz it is a bit expensive.

Anyway, you get 7 layers of fun with every L.O.L. Surprise doll! As you unwrap the ball you'll reveal a new mystery, hinting at which L.O.L. Surprise doll you're going to get.

Personally, I find it so genius how they were able to think of this. Unboxing videos are so popular nowadays, and kids love the element of surprise with blind bags. And that's just for 1 toy. Here, they were able to find a way to unbox 7 times! Here's what you get with each layer:

1st layer - secret message sticker that describes the personality of the doll
2nd layer - sticker that comes with the four possible things the doll can do: cry, pee, change color, or spit.
3rd layer - bottle
4th layer - shoes
5th layer -  outfit
6th layer - accessory
7th layer - doll

And that's not all! Feed your baby for an additional water surprise: she might cry, spit, tinkle. Or bathe her in cold water to see if color changes. Here are the different dolls to collect:

Well, my kids love watching unboxing videos on YouTube like DCTC Toy Channel, HobbyKidsTV, EvanTube, and FGTeeV. And I know I'm not the only parent whose kids start talking like they're on camera whenever they open a new toy lol! "Hey guys, today were going to open (whatever toy)... blah blah blah... So let's get started!" They even ask me to record them all the time! So finally I gave in and made them a YouTube channel. They even thought of the name and everything. So presenting: KiddiePlayhouseTV! Please like and subscribe haha!

KiddiePlayhouseTV

The first video we did was my daughter opening her L.O.L. doll. I just filmed this on my phone and uploaded without any editing since I didn't know how haha. So watch it to see more of the different layers and how the toy looks like.

They were SOOOO excited seeing their video uploaded! I mean, I play their old videos on the computer or even TV, but I guess it's different when they see it on YouTube with the actual thumbnail and everything. The next video we made was my son opening his Hero Mashers. Here, I finally figured out how to edit the video using the software from my camera. So for the next L.O.L. doll video, I was now able to add music and subtitles, plus speed up some parts. Level up na! This next video is longer since we play with her other L.O.L. dolls and test what they do (if they cry, spit, tinkle or color change).

Anyway, I really have a lot of respect for YouTubers because I know it really takes a lot to film and edit a good video. My kids kept bugging me after to film them more but I'm like, give me a minute guys! One at a time. My hubby kept joking me, mamaya maging full-time vlogger na pala ako! ;p

Well, back to the L.O.L. dolls. The ball it comes in acts as a purse carrying case, doll display, bath playset and hangout playset. Here's the different dolls we got. So happy we didn't get any duplicates.

I really find them super cute, so my daughter and I love playing with them. For sure, we'll be buying more of these. Thank goodness they're now available here in Toys R Us! Anyway, hope you can check out their YouTube channel KiddiePlayhouseTV and support them by liking their videos and subscribing. There's only 3 videos so far, but I promise to help them make more this summer. :)
