Vancouver Vacation: Steveston Fishing Village

One of the first places we visited in Canada was the quaint seaside village of Steveston. We saw a lot of beautiful homes, boutiques, and eateries all around.

Steveston is a historic fishing village, with over 600 fishing boats - Canada's largest fleet. It's also still a major centre for commercial fishing.

It was so relaxing to walk along the boardwalk, viewing the lovely scenery, checking out the different restaurants and just people watching.

There are also lots of stores where you can go shopping for some souvenirs.

 You can also buy fresh fish and seafood from parked boats along the dock.

They also have whale watching tours. Maybe next time though. :)

Anyway, you definitely have to eat some fish and chips when you're here. It was so good and tasted so fresh!

There's also historic sites such as the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Museum. The Gulf of Georgia Cannery was once the leading producer of canned salmon in British Columbia, and is now a national historic site and a popular interactive museum.

Anyway, I just couldn't get enough of all the picturesque boats. Everything looked so pretty! Steveston is definitely a lively and beautiful seaside town that has many attractions for families and visitors.
