Staycation at Solaire

I was invited to a blogger lunch at Kiwa Korean Grill last January 14, which can be found in Solaire Resort & Casino. Since the kids had no classes on that day because of a school activity, hubby and I decided to just make a family day out of it and book a stay at the hotel.

I checked online and was able to find the cheapest rate thru Asiatravel.com which was P8k for a Deluxe Room. According to their website - "Luxuriate in the most spacious deluxe rooms in the country, with the entire 43 square meters of floor space designed for ultimate comfort and lavish rejuvenation."

The room was indeed large and you can choose either a King Bed or 2 Double Beds.

I just didn't like how the TV was in the corner of the wall and not in the center. You couldn't really watch properly if you were in the farther bed.

These robes were SUPER fluffy and soft! I wanted to wear them forever and take them home lol! ;p

The room I booked was supposed to have a garden view, so I don't know what happened but it was a city view from our windows.

I also really liked how big the bathroom was, and of course the kids loved the bathtub!

The toilet had no bidet though. I mean for a 5-star hotel, couldn't they afford one?
but thumbs-up for the toiletries

Anyway, when we went down to swim, that's when we realized how far the pool was! You had to walk a looooong corridor from our room to get to the elevators. Then when you get to the 5th floor (which was where the pool access was), you walk to the end of another long corridor... But it was ok since Skyler loved runnning here.

Once you exit the 5th floor, you see this area which I'm guessing is the garden view...

Then walk this path...

To get to another elevator which will bring you to the ground floor where the pool was... FINALLY!

Thank goodness the pool was worth the long walk though! It's one of the nicest pools I've personally swam in.

That's when we realized that there were 2 towers - the BAY tower and the SKY tower. The SKY Tower was the one nearer the pool area but I think the rooms are all suites. So if you're booking a stay here, take note of that.

Like I said, the pool was super nice and I loved the shallow part which was perfect for the kids.

bar at the far end of the pool area
cabanas for rent

We loved these lounge chairs in the pool! The kids were using it as a slide because of the sloped design hehe. ;p

They also lend out life-jackets for the kids (which Skyler wore) in case you didn't bring your own inflatables.

For dinner, we just had Shakey's delivered to the hotel, which you just have to pick up at the delivery bay.

We had a good stay and I inquired the next day if they would allow late check-out. They said they were fully booked though, which I don't know if it was true since I personally didn't even see a lot of guests. We checked-out at 12noon and since this is a casino, the lobby area isn't very kid friendly since there were guests smoking around us.

Anyway, I'm happy we were able to have a staycation here although I think other hotels have more value for money, especially if you chance upon a good promo.
