Stockton Place

One of my best friends wanted to try out Stockton Place when she came for a quick visit from Singapore, so off we went last week to have dinner there.

The place was highly recommended based on the reviews I read online (and I always see it on my social media feed too) so I went ahead and made a reservation through their website for 7:30pm. I received a text right away informing me that they only had tables available either from 6-8pm or 8-10pm. We were still planning to watch a movie after so we just decided on the 6-8pm time slot. I was told to just let them know if we were planning on arriving after 6pm so they could hold the table for us. So I guess maybe you can arrive even at 7pm as long as you're done by 8 for the next batch? hehe :)

Anyway, I guess another good thing about eating early was that we had parking right in front of the resto considering this was in Salcedo Street on a Wednesday. I know parking can be quite challenging in the Makati area especially near all the offices.

There were only two other people there when we arrived, but we were seated near the entrance right when you enter the door. We asked if we could sit somewhere else but I guess all the other tables were for bigger groups (and the place is quite small too). We were beside the window and it was kinda dark, so sorry if all my pics have bad lighting. ;p

love the floors

 Here's their menu:

We started off with the Butternut Squash soup which was really rich and flavorful. Hubby and I shared this so they split it into 2 bowls. Loved how they served it by pouring the soup right in front of us.

I ordered the Sweet Potato Tortellini because I read good reviews about it. But it kinda tasted a little bland for me.

Brown Butter Thyme Sauce, Hazelnut Crumble, and Prosciutto Crisp
P370

Hubby had the Poached Chicken and it was beautifully presented. The crisp chicken skin was a nice touch.

My friend had the Crispy Pork Belly and honestly, we were surprised at how small the serving was! I mean look at its size compared to the plate! Parang kaya ubusin in 2 bites lol! We were joking that this had better be mind-blowing, but aside from the presentation, we didn't really find anything special about it.

Cherry Pork Sauce, Onion Puree, and Pommery Mashed Potatoes
P650

For dessert, we had the Cheesecake and it was light and refreshing.

Graham Crumble, Glazed Blueberries, Lemon Foam, and Fresh Berries

Overall, the food was good but it didn't exceed our expectations. The presentation and plating were wonderful, but servings are kinda small which I guess is normal for these type of restaurants. Un tipong gutom ka pa after and gusto mo mag drive thru haha (and actually, we did eat pa after in Greenbelt while waiting for our movie lol)! And it is quite pricey. But service was excellent, our server even asked for any allergies we had just in case.

But I'm glad we were still able to try it, so at least we can say that we've already eaten here diba? ;p
