Trying our luck at Solaire Resort & Casino

My mother-in-law invited us for lunch at Buffet 101 MOA last week since she had gotten some vouchers (yey for us!). After a stuffing ourselves completely full (btw, you can read about my first time to try Buffet 101 here), my in-laws suggested we check out the newly opened Solaire Resort and Casino. Hubby and I were so excited since it was gonna be our first time to enter a casino haha! I remember going to Las Vegas when I was about 12 and wanting to try the slot machines but couldn't. This time, I can finally play since I'm way past the age limit (although I was secretly hoping they would ask for my ID haha!).

We were worried at first since we were dressed so casually, but so was everybody else! It definitely wasn't like Resorts World Manila where you have lots of stores and casual restaurants to choose from. Here, it was all casino with a few pricey boutiques and expensive dining options (at least for me - so I am definitely NOT the target market haha!). Well, there were still some areas under construction so I'm sure there will be more to look forward to in the coming months. Take note that you will end up smelling like an ashtray when you leave though, since people can smoke freely.

After going around the place and checking out the restaurants, hubby and I were ready to win big! Problem was, we had no idea how the slot machines worked. Everything was just so confusing! We bet P100 first and that was gone in 60 seconds hahaha! We just kept pressing random buttons kasi! Anyway, my mother-in-law was super lucky. She bet P100 and she was able to win P2,600! And it was so much fun watching other people play and win. There was this one lady who also bet P100 and walked away with P3,500 in one sitting. Well, for every lucky person, I'm sure there are 10 unlucky ones... like me and hubby. We bet another P100 and was able to double that in our next try (we were already so happy!) but of course, we lost again once we became too confident. Before we left, we tried one last time... but again our P100 was inhaled by the slot machine. Oh well, now I know why some people lose a lot of money gambling, it can really be addicting! And at the back of your mind, you keep wanting to go on and on since the next spin might be your lucky one... And that double or nothing bet really kills you! But of course, you should always know when to stop. And I'm glad we did! Now, we just downloaded this Casino app in our iPad. At least we can just play with pretend money hahaha!
