DIY: Spray painted iron chairs

If you remember last year, I tackled my very first spray painting project by transforming an old white wrought iron table into a gorgeous purple. That table came with 4 matching chairs and they have been sitting unused at the back of our house for more than a year now.

I really love the intricate details of the chairs but they were just begging to be given a makeover, with all that rust and peeling paint.

So after a trip to Handyman, I decided to stock up on spray paint! Actually, I thought they were on sale that's why I got a lot... turns out they weren't! Boooo! I wanted to paint each chair a different color (lime green, orange, aqua & pink) but they have limited shades on hand so I just tried to get the closest color available. So one afternoon when both kids were taking a nap, I was finally able to get down to business.

Anyway, I was able to do 2 chairs before both kids woke up. I think I was able to do it in less than an hour (which makes me wonder why I didn't do this sooner?!) One can was able to completely cover 1 chair. Here's the 2 I was able to finish:

Ok... so they don't exactly look orange or lime green but they'll do for now. I like how the green turned out better than the "orange" though. I think I'll have to change one of my original colors to purple so they'll match better... hmmm...

Anyway, here they are with the table that came with the set. I did a little something to this table too which I'll be blogging about next. Stay tuned!
