Vancouver Vacation: Once Upon A Time in Storybrooke

Have you seen the show Once Upon A Time? In the story, the Evil Queen banishes every fairy tale character we’ve ever known to the sleepy town of Storybrooke, Maine. But in reality, they film the show in Vancouver, Canada!

Storybrooke is actually the quaint neighbourhood of Steveston which I blogged about HERE.

Most of the filming takes place here at Moncton Street. I was really excited to see the Storybrooke Library behind me, which is shown a lot in the show.

When the film crew is shooting here, they change the signs of the real businesses like this POSH! store which transforms into Mr. Gold's.

But there are some establishments that keep their Storybrooke signages all year-round, like Romania Country Bread which has become Storybrooke Country Bread.

And of course, there's lots of Once Upon a Time merchandise to be found at the Visitor Centre too.

It was such a treat to walk through this village being a fan of the show. It would have been better if they were actually filming though! But whether you watch this show or not, the place is still lovely to visit, with all the quaint boutiques and many restaurants to choose from.
